Forget the pre-Christmas stress and rush and fall under the spell of the winter atmosphere of the Slatiňany chateau.
Experience with us the Christmas Eve in the same way as the family of Franz Joseph of Auersperg did in 1901. What was the day like from early morning hours in the kitchen? What did the chateau staff have to get done? What delicious meals were prepared for the Christmas Eve dinner table? How was it with the Christmas tree and gifts? The answers await you in the Christmas-decorated ground floor interiors, complemented by authentic recollections from the prince’s nephew, who would travel here with his whole family to “visit his wealthy uncle in Bohemia”.
The newly restored and recently opened ground floor interiors of the chateau will, during the December days, present to you not only the history of the noble Auersperg family, but also reveal how the festive end of the year was celebrated at the chateau. The tour will lead you through the guest and reception rooms and then you will visit the restored and working chateau kitchen.
