In this exposition you will see (45 minutes):
The baroque staircase leads you to the hunting-themed entrance corridor with a remarkable collection of paintings of hunts and hunting trophies. The tour continues with newly-opened private rooms of prince Vincent and princess Charlotte and their study room. Through the dressing room and boudoir you enter the bedroom where you will learn about the harmonic marriage of the noble couple. Furthermore, you will see a great amenity of its era – a flushing toilet from 1903. The salon of Princess Wilhelmine catches the attention with its green wallpapers, a rather large portrait of Princess Marie Kinsky and a beautiful view into the garden. The drawing room with golden stucco decoration, separating the chateau into the men's section and the ladies' section, commemorates the almost thousand year old history of the Auersperg family. The salon of the Prince Franz Joseph, with the study attached to it, hints the secret to the Auerspergs business success. In the morning room you will see hunting trophies from Africa and family photo albums. The library, with 43 hundred books, conceals two hidden doors. The tour ends in the dining room with the biggest painting in the chateau.
This tour can be extended into the kitchen, the dish-washing room and the boiling room as a part of the GRAND TOUR.
THE ENTRY INTO THE GARDEN IS INCLUDED IN THE PRICE OF THE TICKET.
